Calvin & Rose Long

Calvin and I have been attending Friendly Chapel for about three years. We were attending a church on North Hills Blvd before we were invited to Friendly Chapel by the Leisenrings. After the first visit the both of us were hooked on the nice friendly atmosphere. Also, to see servants of God working so diligently.

I teach seventh grade at Dunbar Magnet Middle School in Little Rock. I have been teaching for 17 years. Calvin is a retired Vietnam Veteran.

We have 11 children and about 22 grandchildren between the two of us. We enjoy spending time with our family, traveling, gardening, and reading.

Bill & Sammie McNair

We are Bill and Sammie McNair.  We are charter members of Friendly Chapel.  We have been coming to and have been members of Friendly Chapel since it began.  Bill and Paul, Sr. were raised together in Scott, Arkansas and it was just natural for us to come over and help Paul, Sr. and Barbara.  We have been Christians for around 55 years and God has never failed us.  Before coming over to Friendly Chapel we attended the University Park Nazarene church and raised our 2 daughters there.  Rita and Connie both live in DeWitt, Arkansas.  We have four grandkids and 10 great-grandkids and get lots of pictures of them.  (haha)  One the 26th of February we will be married for 60 years.

MARGARET.jpg.jpg

Hi!  I’m Margaret Ervin.  I have been attending Friendly Chapel for about 10 years.  I first came here to see some youngsters from my school play in a basketball game.  The minute I walked into the gym, I felt the peace and love of God.  I started bringing children here for their benefit and ended up finding a place where I felt at home as well.  I am a kindergarten teacher at Seventh Street Elementary School.  I have been teaching for 21 years.

I have two daughters by birth, a wonderful son-in-law, and many other children I consider mine through school.  Rebecca (my older daughter) and her husband, Ed, live in Rison.  Ed is a state forest manger and Becca works for the Arkansas State Forestry Commission as a field auditor supervisor.  She is a forester as well.  Christa (my younger daughter) lives in Conway and attends UCA.  She will begin graduate school in the fall and hopes to be a physical therapist.  I love my Lord and am so thankful to be a part of Friendly Chapel.

Nat&Leighton.jpg

Hello! We are Leighton and Natalie Cannon. I am the youngest daughter of Al and Robin Pilcher.  My sister, Meredith, lives in Chattanooga, TN with her husband, Josh.  I have attended Friendly Chapel for 10 years. My parents moved to Memphis, TN in 2003 but they still make regular visits to Arkansas.  Leighton and I met at UCA and were married at Friendly Chapel on September 30, 2006.  Leighton has worked for Cintas for 4 years and I have worked for Cardinal Health for almost 2 years.  Leighton enjoys sports, sports, and more sports. Seriously, if you come up and talk to him about anything sports, you’ll be buddies for life! J  I enjoy shopping, relaxing, and spending time with my family. We both love to travel and go to Razorback football games.

Hello Friendly chapel, we are the Stubblefield family,

I’m Carlton (the drummer), this is my wife Willene on my right, my kids Christine and Kelvin and our new edition Krystal my granddaughter. We have been at Friendly Chapel for 3 years, we live in the downtown Little Rock area. My wife and I have been married for 15years.
We came to Friendly Chapel by way of my great-grandfather Elijah Jones.  We first visited Friendly Chapel in 1993 when Donna Holderfield who worked with my dad at South Western Bell at the time invited my dad to church.  I am a Letter Carrier for the Post Office, and my wife is a Hairstylist.  We love to travel and watch movies together.

lydia.jpg

My name is Lydia Wilson, I was married to Joe Wilson for over 43 yrs.  He pastored for almost 40 yrs.  In 1994 he took early retirement with the idea of helping Bro. Paul Sr. here at Friendly Chapel.

Joe died 4 months later of a heart attack in March of 1995.  I moved to San Antonio, TX to be with my oldest daughter, Gale, and her husband Dennis, and teenage daughter, Lindsay.

In 1998, I moved back to Friendly Chapel, in a house across the street. I began working 1 day a week in the soup kitchen and the Thrift Store 2 mornings a week. They say if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, so I did and now I work 3 mornings in the Thrift Store.

I am the mother of three children, Bill, who lives in Lawrenceville, GA, with his wife Kim, and two daughters, Amber who will be a jr. in college, and Bonnie who will be a sr. in high school this fall.

Gale, my oldest daughter passed away in Oct. of 1999 of cancer, leaving her husband Dennis, and daughter Lindsay. Lindsay is married and lives in OKC where she is public school teacher. Her husband Mike is in the construction business.

My youngest daughter (and favorite child!) is Donna Holderfield, who is married to Phillip, they have 3 children, Rae, Michelle and Phillip, jr. Then of course the wonderful, beautiful and talented Corbin and Aubrey who are the love of my life.  I have the pictures to prove how beautiful they are - ask me and I will show you!

I love the Lord.  I have served him for over 54 yrs.  My goal is to be the parent, grandma, and friend that Jesus would have me be.

Stephanie, Steffon, and Eric Marsh

Eric and I have been members of Friendly Chapel for over 5 years thanks in big part to Nate Martin. Eric and Nate attended the Fire Academy together over 20 years ago and remained in contact with each other over the years. When we were looking for a new church home Nate invited us to Friendly Chapel and after a couple of visits of experiencing the genuine love and kindness of the people we decided that we would stay. I sing in the choir and Eric plays guitar. Eric is a Little Rock Fire Fighter, a Paramedic with MEMS, and a Master Sergeant in the Army Reserve; he refers to himself as the “Uniform Man”. I am a Senior Analyst with Windstream Communications. We live in Maumelle and have a 17-year-old son, Eric Steffon. Steffon will be a senior at Central Arkansas Christian (“CAC”) this coming year. Steffon plays football and basketball at CAC and is a member of National Beta Club

and the National Honor Society.

Hello, our names are Richard & Barbi Steed

We met in 1990 while Richard was working for Roller Owens Funeral Home.  I delivered flowers at that time for Cabot Florist, and one day as I walked through the parking garage of the funeral home - Richard was inside cleaning out a hearse.  Imagine my shock when a voice from inside the hearse said, 'Hello!'  It about scared me to death!

Richard started attending Friendly Chapel around 1987 and I started attending in the spring of 1991.  We were married by Bro. Paul, Sr. on September 14, 1991, in what is now the Children's Church.

Richard now works for Wal-Mart and I work for Regions Bank.  Here at Friendly Chapel, I work in the nursery during the Sunday School hour.  Richard and I both work in Children's Church, and Richard sings in the choir.  Richard has a son, Michael, from a previous marriage.  Michael is 30 years old and has recently become a widower.

Hello Church Family,

We are the Camp's, Patty, Mark and Lauren.  I am the oldest daughter of Bro. Paul and Cathy Holderfield.  I am the one Dad sometimes refers to as, "Puddin."  Mark and I met while working together at Michael's Arts & Crafts in 1991.  We were married in September 1994. I am a part-time Sales Rep for Kraft and ConAgra Foods.  Mark is in Regional Sales with Coca-Cola to Wal*Mart.

Our first child, John Paul, was born fifteen months into my pregnancy with Spina Bifada and went to Heaven in October 1997, three months before his Great-Papa, Bro. Paul Sr.  Our precious Lauren was born in November 1999.  She attends Central Arkansas Christian School and is a straight A student in the second grade.  We are so very blessed to have such a wonderful daughter, who consistently demonstrates the Christian values that she's learning from K.I.D. F.O.R.C.E. Ministries, church, school and home.  Earlier this year, Lauren's school teacher shared with us how she befriended a less fortunate classmate, who has trouble making friends and she was setting an example for the other students, by being a Christian role model.

Flo Strong & Children

flo.jpgflo1.jpg

Hi, my name is Florence (Flo) Strong; I’ve been coming to Friendly Chapel for a little over a year, and have been a member for almost the same amount of time.  I feel God has called me to the Church since day one and here is where I will serve Him.  I work at HealthSCOPE Benefits as a Benefit Administrator (HR) for a company in PA.  I work with a retiree group, so helping them get Medicare and their prescriptions is my job.  I love it!  My son is Aarron Hansen, he is an Honor Row student at Benton Middle School, and he has a passion for music, and is studying trombone and guitar.  He wants to be able to play at Church one day, and is working toward that goal.  My daughter is Kaylee Strong, she is our Light.  She loves everyone; if you have met her you most likely have received a hug.  I don’t think I have met someone as happy as she is.  She loves people and loves to sing.  We are very honored to have everyone here as a part of our family, we are blessed!

Mike & Amesia Coleman

Hi, we are Mike and Amesia Coleman. I have attended Friendly Chapel for close to 15 years. We as a couple have attended Friendly Chapel for about 8 years. We’ll be married 7 years this year! I started coming her periodically as a child with my Uncle Eugene and Aunt Fae. We both serve in the Children’s Ministry and we absolutely love it! I am currently a Junior in nursing school and work at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Mike works for Simmon’s First National Bank (and plays basketball, semi-pro or recreational, every other moment!) We have no children of our own but we always seem to pick some up on the way!  We love our church family and look forward to every moment of fellowship!

JOE & ANN DAVIS               JAKQUN DAVIS                   JR. ROBINSON

Good morning Friendly Chapel:

There are usually 43 Smith/Davis family members worshiping Jesus every Sunday here at Friendly Chapel. We are four of the Davis Clan.  Joe Sr., who for years used to just bring me and our boys every Sunday has now been coming himself for 10 years.  Joe Sr. loves the people here and most of all he loves working for Jesus any where he can.  He volunteers in the soup kitchen, does Thrift Store pick-ups, does yard work, works all the sales.  Together we clean the worship center along with Jakqun, our youngest son.

I have been coming here since Friendly Chapel started – I was one of the original 12 kids that Bro. Paul, Sr. started with.  As I mentioned before, our sons and their wives, and our grandkids get to experience the same love, care, and teachings that I did when I was a kid.  Jesus loves children and so does Friendly Chapel!  If you get the kids into church then many times the parents will follow, mine did!  My mom, Mary Smith, who was featured last Sunday, made sure we (my brother and 4 sisters) were on the van and were in church every Sunday, and now mom attends regularly too.

Jakqun, our youngest son, has attended here his entire 16 ½ years.  When he is asked what he likes to do, he always answers; I like going to church, playing basketball and texting on the phone.  We are the proud parents of Joe Davis, III and Antoine, Sr. which attends here with their families.  We have an added a new member to our family, we call him Jr., and he has been with us and attending FC for a little over 2 months.

Mary Smith

Hello Church Family,

I am Mary Smith.  I have been in touch with the Lord for 20 years and have been attending Friendly Chapel for over 10 years now.  I am the mother of eight children – with seven still living.  I started sending six of my kids to Friendly Chapel back from day one when Bro. Paul, Sr. came to my door in Eastgate 37 years ago.  It was as if I was giving my children to Jesus as he had trusted me with them.  To this day three of my kids attend here faithfully.  Also, I have a host of grandkids and great-grandkids who follow suit in serving Jesus.  I love Jesus, my family, my pastor.  I also love to raise and cook greens, and I love to fish.

Top Row:  Rae & Jeremy Newlin, Phillip Holderfield, Jr.

Seated:  Justin, Michelle, Corbin, and Aubrey Camp

Hi, we are the Camp's.  I am Michelle Camp the middle child of Phillip and Donna; however, I never truly got any sympathy for being the ‘middle’ since my identical twin, Rae Newlin, was born only 3 minutes before me.   I have attended Friendly Chapel my whole life.  My husband, Justin, had never attended church regularly before he and I met.  I still remember the first Wednesday night service he attended without me while we were dating.  I realized then that Friendly Chapel was not just "my" church, but "OUR" church.  We have a three year old son, Corbin, who is as cute as he is rough.  He has a heart of gold, and his tenderness takes my breath away!  Our daughter, Aubrey, is nine months old.  She is a very content baby, and it is amazing to watch her personality blossom. My husband and I teach the computer class for Kid's F.O.R.C.E. ministry.  Also, I am the fifth/sixth grade girls' Sunday school teacher.  We enjoy being involved in the Young Adult Ministries (YAM), as well.  I am a business teacher at Maumelle Middle School and Justin is employed by Alltel, Corp.

Hi, we are Rae and Jeremy Newlin.  I (Rae) am the oldest – even if only by three minutes – of the three kids.  I am a twin to Michelle and interestingly enough Jeremy is an identical twin as well.  Many from Friendly Chapel helped support Jeremy and I on our year long mission trip to Togo, West Africa.  After returning from Africa, Jeremy felt a call to full-time ministry.  God works in mysterious ways and led Jeremy to be the Youth/Children’s Pastor at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene in Alexander, Arkansas.  Even though we don't attend Friendly Chapel, it is still home!!!  Rae is the librarian at Daisy Bates Elementary in Little Rock.  We stay very busy with family, friends, and church activities.  We do not have children, yet.  Anytime I get the urge to have children, Jeremy invites Corbin over for the weekend and that ‘cures’ me for the time being!!  (Maybe someday??)

Hi, I am Phillip Holderfield, Jr.  I am employed with Alltel Corporation in Conway, AR.  I am the youngest child of Phillip and Donna Holderfield.  I enjoy all type of sports and still play basketball (for the church team every Monday evening), and I play tennis and golf as often as I can.  I am single and own my on home in the Morgan/Maumelle area.  I mow the church yard and all the church lots and fields which keeps my very busy during the spring, summer, and into the fall months.  I am also an usher on Sunday morning.  I enjoy eating all my meals at Michelle and Justin’s or my parent’s house since I don’t cook!

Phillip & Donna Holderfield

Hi, we are Phillip and Donna the FAVORITE children of Barbara Holderfield (Phillip’s mother) and Lydia Wilson (Donna’s mother).  (We are both the youngest children in our families and everyone KNOWS the baby is the favorite!!  SMILE)

I work at Friendly Chapel probably to a lot of people’s amazement as I have been known to have a warped sense of humor!!  I also work at the Medicine Shoppe in Maumelle in the afternoons.  Phillip is employed at Target Distribution Center in Maumelle and has been there for 28 years.  We both teach Sunday School classes – Donna teaches an adult class and Phillip teaches the fifth/sixth grade boys.

We have three children; daughters, Rae Newlin and Michelle Camp (identical twins), and our son, Phillip Holderfield, Jr.  Both of our daughters are married to wonderful Christian men (Justin and Jeremy) and for that we are truly grateful. We also have two of the most beautiful grandchildren – just stating facts – Corbin (3 yrs) and Aubrey (9 months).

We stay very busy with church activities, family, and friends. We will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in June.  Phillip is my best friend and I prefer to be in his company over anyone else I know.  Thankfully, we get along and have tons of fun together!!  Phillip had a 6 way heart by pass in August, 2006 (at the age of 49) and now we just feel very blessed to have each new day.

brenda.jpg

We are Marty and Brenda Sanady.  Together we prepare the bulletin each week and I read the prayer list.   My mother was the oldest sister of Sister Barbara Holderfield.   I began attending Friendly Chapel in February 1998.  Marty and I “met” on the internet in January 2000 and married in January 2001.  He is from West Hartford, Connecticut and is the sixth of seven brothers.  His father was a Hungarian immigrant and his mother is from Canada.  His parents opened their hearts and their home to many refugees and others in need throughout his life, which helps to account for the kind, loving spirit he exhibits.   My entire family – including my church family - fell in love with him the first time they met him, too.   Upon marrying me, Marty inherited two grown children, my daughter Rebecca, who lives in North Little Rock, and my son Eric, who with his wife Kris, has blessed us with three beautiful granddaughters and a grandson.  Even though they live in Phoenix, AZ, our greatest desire is to help set a Christian example for them.

pam.jpg

Hello, Friendly Chapel!

It’s Pam Leisenring writing to introduce myself and my husband, Tom Leisenring, and our 15-year-old son, Blake.  Tom and I were married at Friendly Chapel by Bro. Paul, Sr., just over 18 years ago, and our family has attended church here for the past 10 years.  I am honored to tell you that Barbara Holderfield is my aunt--little sister to my mother, Bernice Ahart, who died 10 years ago this month.  Uncle Paul died in January 1998, and my mother joined him in Heaven one month later!    Tom, Blake, and I had been in the arms of our Lord before that, but we have also been in the embrace of our wonderful family ever since!  Not just those of our biological family, you understand, but also of the entire Friendly Chapel Family, who threw their arms around us and loved us until we knew we belonged here!  If you are new to this church, know this beyond any doubt:  you are loved with the Love of Christ, Our Savior, and you will NEVER be alone!  For us, watching the example set by Bro. Paul, Jr., and those he trusts as leaders, we know we see Jesus walking right in front of us!  Our prayer is that you see Him walking in your lives every day, too.  Finally, I am happy to say that my sister is Brenda Sanady, who was featured with her husband Marty last week.

We love you all, and we are happy to be part of this special Family of God at Friendly Chapel!

Pam, Tom, and Blake Leisenring

We are LaTrece Smith, CJ Smith, and Allie Hill and I have been attending Friendly Chapel for about 12 years. I am Cynthia's (George and Gloria Rodgers oldest daughter) daughter.  We began attending Friendly Chapel because of Sandra and Stefan Rodgers. My sister, Denee and my brother Rickey would go with Aunt San on a many of Sundays and they would always come home excited about the church, so I began to attend. Rickey Herron, my brother, was killed on October 1, 2006 and he was the drummer in the choir.  He is missed but certainly not forgotten.  I have not formally joined Friendly Chapel but I consider myself an honorary member.  I am currently working at US Bank as a banker.  Allie is 11 years old and in the sixth grade.  She attends Poplar Street Middle School.  CJ is 7 and in the second grade.  He attends Glenview Elementary.  I sing in the choir and I am a Children’s Ministry worker.  My hobbies are cooking and eating.  Allie loves to talk to her friends and work on the computer and CJ's hobbies are listening to music and playing his Playstation.

Hi my name is Charlotte Lee I joined Friendly Chapel in 1999 after being asked by Bro, Paul several times well maybe more than one person should have to ask I started coming with the Son-Shine gang through working with them as a instructor. Jennifer Johnson

My name is Jennifer Johnson and I joined Friendly Chapel back in 2003 or 2004.  I am a part-time student at UALR majoring in Finance and I work for the U of A Cooperative Extension Services.  I have been married for 3yrs to my husband Mekela Johnson and we have 2 children.  Our son Jordan is 8yrs old and our daughter Jamisyn is 1yr old.  I was invited to church one Sunday a few years back by Shannon Davis and I loved the atmosphere as soon as I stepped through the door.  What made me want to join this church was the loving environment at Friendly Chapel and Children’s Church.  My son loves Children’s Church!  My mother, Faye Penn, is a member also.  I am a nursery volunteer and I teach Sunday school (Pre-K and Kindergarten).  I really appreciate all that Brother Paul and Friendly Chapel has done for me and my family!

Info: Lawrence and I were both born into the Friendly Chapel Family
and proud of it!  I work at Arvest Bank as a Deposit Counselor and
Lawrence works at Alltel as a wireless consultant. We live in Maumelle in the
Holderfield compound with one crazy Aunt who shall remain nameless ;)
We enjoy watching movies and playing video games. In Lawrence's spare
time he composes music and writes worship songs. I enjoy playing with my
dog and reading in my spare time.
